Cancellation on the day of the session
Please contact ELC by email. It is not acceptable to communicate only directly with your assigned advisor.
Rules Regarding Absence and Tardiness
Rules for Absence
Please refrain from unexcused absences. Unexcused absences take away learning opportunities from other students who may have wanted to attend but couldn’t due to a full session. Be sure to cancel in advance using the procedure outlined above.
Additionally, students who are subject to ELC assignments will have 1 point deducted from their ELC assignment points for each unexcused absence starting from the second occurrence.
Rules for Tardiness and Early Departure
Arriving more than 5 minutes late or leaving 5 minutes early will be counted as an absence, and no ELC assignment points will be awarded. For online sessions, if there are connection issues such as problems with Wi-Fi, Zoom settings, or microphone/headphone connectivity that cause a delay in participation or result in being unable to reconnect, it will also be treated as tardiness or early departure. Be sure to prepare properly in advance.
Please Avoid Cancellations as Much as Possible
Please make sure to confirm your schedule thoroughly before making a reservation. Avoid making reservations just to “hold a spot” without serious intention to attend.
TUFS ELC Online Reservation Site has a limit on the number of reservations that can be accepted per month. Once this limit is exceeded, further reservations will be stopped. If “placeholder” reservations are frequently canceled and new ones are taken in place, the number of reservations will increase rapidly, potentially exceeding the limit.
Please be considerate of other students
Furthermore, during busy periods, there are students who are unable to make a reservation because sessions are fully booked. “Placeholder” reservations deprive these students of their opportunity to learn.
For the same reasons, please avoid canceling reservations on the day of the session. With cancellations close to the session time, even if a spot becomes available, there may not be enough time to schedule another student.
We ask for your cooperation so that everyone can enjoy using the ELC smoothly.
