Points (ELC points) are awarded for these activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are enrolled in GLIP English Course A, the points earned will be reflected in your grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-medium-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-medium-gray-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students enrolled in GLIP English courses \u201cEnglish A1\u2013A4\u201d (including second-year or above students and repeaters)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First-year students majoring in English (regardless of GLIP enrollment; included in promotion criteria)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Not eligible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students in the Africa and Oceania Studies major (Faculty of Global and Regional Studies), unless enrolled in \u201cEnglish A1\u2013A4\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer students and exchange students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-medium-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-medium-gray-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grade Reflection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. ELC Points<\/strong><br>ELC points count toward 10% of course grades in the spring semester and 20% of course grades in the fall semester for GLIP English courses \u201cEnglish A1\u2013A4\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2461 TOEIC-IP Test (First-Year Students)<\/strong><br>Based on the Listening &amp; Reading [LR] score (with Speaking &amp; Writing [SW] also required), points are added as follows and count for 10% of the fall semester grade (combined total: 20% with assignment points):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>800+ \u2192 10 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>750\u2013799 \u2192 9 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>700\u2013749 \u2192 8 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>650\u2013699 \u2192 7 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>600\u2013649 \u2192 6 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>550\u2013599 \u2192 5 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>500\u2013549 \u2192 4 points<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>499 or below \u2192 3 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Incorrect student ID registration will result in no points awarded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taking only the LR test does not qualify for points; the SW test is mandatory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refer carefully to the 2026 ELC User Guide for TOEIC-IP details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For students not required to take TOEIC-IP (2nd year and above):<\/strong><br>ELC assignment points are doubled for the fall semester grade.<br>(Example: 10 points \u2192 counted as 20 points, equivalent to 20% of the course grade.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promotion Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>First-year English majors (excluding Africa &amp; Oceania Studies) must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Earn at least 10 points in both spring and fall semesters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take both TOEIC-IP LR and SW tests in December<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ELC Point Award Periods (2026)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Spring Semester:<\/strong> April 13 \u2013 July 10 (deadline 23:00)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fall Semester:<\/strong> October 5 \u2013 December 23 (deadline 23:00)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Points are calculated after deadlines and reported to instructors.<br>Points cannot be added after deadlines or carried over to future semesters or years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Notes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Earn at least <strong>1 point from a Speaking Session or ELC Seminar<\/strong>, then combine freely with other programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If no points are earned from sessions\/seminars, all other points become invalid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation alone does not earn points. You must submit an essay\/self-evaluation within the deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If submissions are incomplete, resubmission is required. Feedback is provided via MOE.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being more than 5 minutes late counts as absence (no points).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unexcused absences result in point deductions from the second occurrence onward.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always cancel in advance if unable to attend.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earn <strong>at least 10 points per semester<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Programs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fb<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/programs\/speaking-session\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1308\">Speaking Session<\/a><br>\u30fb<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/programs\/elc-seminar\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1291\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ELC Seminar<\/a><br>\u30fb<a href=\"https:\/\/moe.tufs.ac.jp\/course\/view.php?id=90\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/moe.tufs.ac.jp\/course\/view.php?id=90\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recording Task<\/a><br>\u30fb<a href=\"https:\/\/moe.tufs.ac.jp\/course\/view.php?id=89\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/moe.tufs.ac.jp\/course\/view.php?id=89\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vocabulary Test<\/a><br>\u30fb<a href=\"https:\/\/atr-call.tufs.ac.jp\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/atr-call.tufs.ac.jp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ATR CALL BRIX<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-medium-gray-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-medium-gray-background-color has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Main rules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Speaking Session \/ ELC Seminar<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Participation and Submission for Points<\/strong><br>To earn ELC Assignments points, you must participate in at least one <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/tufs-elc-top\/programs\/speaking-session\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1308\">Speaking Session<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/tufs-elc-top\/programs\/program\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2158\">ELC Seminar<\/a> and <strong>correctly submit &#8220;Essay and Self-Assessment Sheet.&#8221;<\/strong> If you do not earn at least one point from the session or seminar, any points earned from other programs will be invalidated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Conditions for Point Approval<\/strong><br>Simply participating in a session or seminar does not guarantee points. After participation, <strong>you must submit &#8220;Essay and Self-Assessment Sheet&#8221; within the designated deadline.<\/strong> Points will only be awarded if there are no deficiencies in your submission. If there are deficiencies, <strong>you must correct and resubmit them<\/strong> by the resubmission deadline (refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/tufs-elc-top\/rules\/essay\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1388\">&#8220;Submission Rules&#8221;<\/a> for details on deficiencies). Feedback on whether points were awarded or if resubmission is required will be communicated through the feedback comments on Moodle for Open Education (MOE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Punctuality and Attendance<\/strong><br>If you are more than five minutes late to a session or seminar, <strong>it will be treated as an absence<\/strong>, and you will not earn points. Additionally, from the second unexcused absence onward, <strong>one point will be deducted for each absence<\/strong>. If you are unable to attend, you must cancel in advance (refer to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.tufs.ac.jp\/elc\/en\/tufs-elc-top\/rules\/reservation\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"1387\">Reservation and Participation Rules<\/a>&#8221; for cancellation procedures).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Recording Task<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Submitting Recording Task, like other sessions and seminars, <strong>requires that there be no deficiencies; otherwise, resubmission is necessary.<\/strong> Whether your submission has been accepted or a resubmission is required will be communicated through feedback comments on Moodle for Open Education (MOE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Vocabulary Test<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vocabulary Test is worth <strong>1 point for a perfect score of 30 questions<\/strong>. If you make mistakes, you must retake the test until you achieve a perfect score. Even if you take both the B1 and B2 tests in the same week, you can only earn 1 point. Also, ELC will not notify you of point approval for the Vocabulary Test, so you should keep track of your own progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>ATR CALL BRIX<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>ATR CALL BRIX is worth 1 point after completing <strong>a total of 20 items in the &#8220;<em>\u91d1\u3068\u9280\u306e\u5408<\/em>\u8a08 (Gold and Silver Total)&#8221; section<\/strong>. However, the number of items in the &#8220;<em>\u91d1\u3068\u9280\u306e\u5408<\/em>\u8a08 (Gold and Silver Total)&#8221; section will accumulate across semesters, so in the autumn semester, you should subtract the BRIX items completed in the spring semester. ELC will not notify you of point approval for ATR CALL BRIX, so you should track your progress yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Point Deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each semester has a designated period during which ELC Assignments points can be earned. For the spring semester, this is typically until late June, and for the autumn semester, it is typically until mid December. You are responsible for managing your own points. You can check the points earned for MOE tasks directly on the MOE platform. For other programs, you must track your progress yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.
