[Call for support] Crowdfunding 2024 for African exchange student (20 Nov to 10 Jan)

As the Inter-University Exchange Project (Africa) will end at the end of March next year, we have decided to implement a crowdfunding campaign to support travel expenses of exchange students from African partner universities next year.

It has been started today, 20 November 2024 to 10 January 2025.

Tokyo University of Foreign Studies has been focusing on two-way exchange with partner universities in Africa. Until now, we have been able to invite students from Africa thanks to the cooperation of Japanese companies and implementation of the Inter-University Exchange Project (Africa) by MEXT. However, it is becoming more difficult due to the end of the project and the shrinking of the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship.

In order to keep the flow of student exchange between Africa and Japan going and to further develop it, we launch a crowdfunding campaign today. This will be the third time we have done this in four years.

More than anything, our wish is to continue with student exchange with Africa. Students from Africa come to Japan to study and have the opportunity to interact with others. They and she are a valuable bridge connecting Africa and Japan.

We would be very grateful for your support.

Part 3! African students to Tokyo University of Foreign Studies! We want to continue the exchange programme between Japan and Africa.

Implementation period: Wednesday 20 November 2024 – Friday 10 January 2025 (52 days)

Target amount: 1.5 million yen (travel expenses of 3 students + handling fee) + next goal of 1 million yen (travel expenses of 2 students + handling fee)

Details: Website within the University’s Center for African Area Studies
