A panel session at the Africa-Asia Confest 3 (on the 13th, June, 2025, @UCAD, Dakar)

Some of our Japanese and Senegalese members participated in the “Africa-Asia Confest 3” held at Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar between the 11th and 14th of June in 2025 and had a panel Session to present our joint research.

Presentations held there were as follows:

  1. A brief introduction of this panel by Nakayama
  2. Presentation 1: Climate Change and Spatio-Temporal Dynamics in Senegalese Sahel: Geographical Study (Djibrirou Daouda BA)
  3. Presentation 2: Sustainable Agriculture, Aquaculture in Medina Sabakh: Senegal in an Opportunity Faced to Climate Change (Aibatou Diop)
  4. Presentation 3: Rural Crises in Senegal and Sustainable Agriculture: Reading from Medina Sabakh (Mouhamadou Lamine Diallo)
  5. Presentation 4: An Anthropological Study of Female Empowerment Based on a Voice of Local Community: A Case Study of Boumbane Village in Senegal (Chihiro Kumashiro)
  6. Presentation 5: Toward a Sustainable Empowerment of Women as the Foundation of Post-Colonial Society (Chikako Nakayama & Shinji Yokogawa)
  7. Followed by the discussion with the audience (short owing to the lack of remaining time).

There was a prepared document of Prof. Drame, unfortunately absent on the day, could not be read owing to the time shortage.
