From November 2 to 11, 2019, Prof. Misaki Natsuaki and three students of University of California, Riverside (UCR) which is one of the partner universities in the U.S., visited Japan as an inbound exchange program in relation to the COIL-type class. Prior to the visit, Prof. Natsuaki’s class had a discussion on differences of education system between Japan and the U.S. in an online session with Prof. Toshiaki Sasao of International Christian University (ICU). During the visit, they further exchanged their thoughts and ideas in person. In addition to the discussion session, UCR students participated several classes in education held at ICU and deepened their understanding in Japanese education system. As a cultural exchange program, they appreciated and experienced Japanese culture by wearing Kimono in Kawagoe and visiting Edo-Tokyo Museum.
