On February 11 and 13, 2020, Dr. Fabio Rambelli of the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), a U.S. partner university, came to Japan to participate in a class of Dr. Matthew Gillan of International Christian University (ICU), who conducted an online session in a COIL-type class and gave a lecture on Gagaku (traditional Japanese music). It was a valuable opportunity for students to exchange ideas about Japanese traditional music with the American professor and to gain a broad knowledge of two professors’ field of expertise.
