On Tuesday, January 14, 2020, the TP-COIL project hosted the symposium titled “Radicalization and Terrorism – Context, Trajectories, Implications and the Role of Education including the Possibility of COIL Type Education.” Inviting experts from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Indian administered Kashmir, we discussed how a higher education can play a role to counter the world’s issue of youth violent radicalism, referred to the possibility of COIL-type education toward radicalization. A professor who is dealing with deradicalization at the higher education in Pakistan said that the COIL-type education has a similarity to deradicalization education program in terms of widening the view points and cultivating various perspectives.
