[TUFS] Film Screening and Discussion were held: “Abandoned: The Stories of Japanese War Orphans in the Philippines and China”

On July 19, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies co-hosted a screening of “Abandoned: The Stories of Japanese War Orphans in the Philippines and China ” with Institute for Global Area Studies, TUFS.
The film follows the lives of children who were left behind in various parts of Asia after the Asia-Pacific War and the response of the Japanese government.
The event separated in two sessions. The participants watched the film in the first session, and they have a discussion in the second session. Professor Yukako Otori hosted , Professor Nobuo Haruna moderated the discussion and Eri Kitada at Rutgers University in the US provided commentary.
